REDCAT Sound Systems Being Used in Classrooms
by Phillip Picquet
"The REDCAT allows students to hear natural voice sound throughout the entire room. Both students and teachers use the system so even the quietest voice is now heard by all! Good-bye to the unnatural "over-projected" voice of a teacher trying to make sure that those in back can hear. Good-bye to students being asked to "repeat and speak up please." Everyone is heard....the first time. We love the Redcat. I was skeptical at first, not anymore."
"The Redcat seems to be beneficial while communicating transitions between activities. When they're doing group work it can get a bit noisy so I think it helps me communicate better when it's time to regroup or move on to another activity."
These are comments that teachers Nancy Pietzyk and Abby Workman had to say about the new single speaker sound system being used in middle school classrooms. These systems amplify a teachers voice so that every student can hear instruction clearly. In the few short weeks we have been using them, I have been hearing positive comments like these from teachers and students. We are excited to see the impact these systems will bring to our middle school learning environment.
